This is a 1997 Peugeot 306 II Maxi. It makes 300hp from a 1998cc normally aspirated 4 cylinder. At what RPM do you think it makes that 300hp?
EDIT: Peter Black, SV Wrangler got it. This car makes peak power at 11,000 rpm. Here’s what it’s like when a rally car is revving up into motorcycle territory:

You got it. The first version of this car made 280 at a more reasonable 8700 rpm. They went properly bonkers to get 20hp more.

These things were fast. In some tarmac rallies they even managed to beat the WRC cars.
